Follow these guidelines for a lush, green lawn. Times of application
may vary based on weather conditions at time of application.
March/April
March is usually still a little too early to fertilize. Now would be a
good to spray ferti-lome Weed Out for control of broad leaf weeds
when the temps are around 70 degrees.
April 1 is the time to fertilize Bermuda or St. Augustine. Use
ferti-lome Lawn Food + Iron or ferti-lome Weed Out + Lawn
Fertilizer now. Be on the lookout for fungus problems such as
Brown Patch and Take All Patch. If you see a fungus problem
beginning to develop apply ferti-lome F-Stop or ferti-lome Liquid
Fungicide containing Banner.
June
This is the time for the next fertilizer application for Bermuda or St.
Augustine. Make sure you fertilize St. Augustine now or you must
wait until the Fall. Applying fertilizer on St. Augustine in the
Summer highly increases your chance of fungus. Again, apply
ferti-lome Lawn Food + Iron.
This is also the time to consider applying insect control on the
lawn. Use Hi-Yield Kill-A-Bug II for most insects and Hi-Yield
Grub Free Zone for grubworms.
August
Bermuda grass needs to be fed 3 to 4 times per year, so if you
choose a 4 time per year schedule now would be the time. Use
ferti-lome Lawn Food + Iron. Do not feed St. Augustine now but
be on the lookout for fungus problems such as Brown Patch and
Take All Patch. If you see a fungus problem beginning to develop
apply ferti-lome F-Stop or ferti-lome Liquid Fungicide
containing Banner.
September/October
This is the time for the last fertilization of the year or what we like to
call Winterizing.
If you fertilized your Bermuda in August, wait until the end of
September or first of October to fertilize for the last time. You will
need to apply your pre-emegent weed control about the first week
of September. Use Hi-Yield Turf & Ornamental Weed & Grass
Stopper with Dimension now.
November/December
TAKE A BREAK!!! You've worked hard all year.
